Here is the draft business plan developed by Save our Poly! This is still a work in progress, but we want YOU to feed into it and contribute. Your involvement is vital, please discuss your thoughts and opinions on the document in the Forum and send anything else you may wish to say to info@saveourpoly.co.uk
Save Our Poly is a campaign to keep The Poly (formerly Falmouth Arts Centre) in business and for it continue to offer a wonderful programme of films, theatre and art exhibitions to the community of Falmouth.
What's happened?
The Poly, as of 11/01/2010, has been closed and forced into immediate insolvency with administrators being appointed to wind up the business.
Why should you support this?
Because The Poly is a wonderful and intimate little arts centre that brings so much to the town, offering young people an opportunity to perform in a 200-seat theatre, showing a diverse selection of excellent films, bringing excellent live music to your doorstep and giving young and local artists the opportunity to have their work exhibited in a great gallery space, right in the centre of one of Cornwall's busiest towns.
The thought of Falmouth without an arts centre is a fairly bleak one, so please show your support.
What can you do to help?
1) Become a fan of the Facebook Page.
2) Encourage everyone you know to become fans.
3) Sign the online petition.
4) Do your bit to support a building that has been a wonderful community centre for Falmouth since 1835.
We don't know what can be done currently, but a show of public support could greatly influence things, and we won't know unless we try. Please, please encourage everyone you know to support the campaign.
We'll continue to be in contact about the future of the place as soon as we know more and also more campaign initiatives, but please do your bit to save The Poly, Falmouth's arts centre.
If you have any suggestions, please discuss them in our forum!
